This is a guideline on what your sketchbook should include for Unit 7
Drawing Research:
Walking cycles – Non drawing learners should be able to draw simple cycles, and advanced learners should draw their own character (with walking cycle)
Face expressions –
Depending on your level in drawing you will have to ensure you create drawings demonstrating more drawing experiments
Poses study
Light, reflection
Principals of animation
Cartoon Typography

CREATIVE EXPERIMENTATIONS
PERSONIFY ELEMENTS OF NATUREa
Animators take inspiration from nature and things around them.
You can read more about the animation below and how it was made here on the BBC website;
Bringing to life a Brussels sprout: Creating BBC One’s Christmas veggie
Experiments with materials:
As graphic designer you should able to demonstrate your ability to create using different techniques and mediums
1- Take a vegetable and turn it into a character.
EXPERIMENT WITH CARDBOARD
Cardboard monsters
Create character(s) using cardboards to demonstrate your ability to experiment with different techniques in developing ideas for animations. You should extend with taking your character into further development by animating it using
Experiment with Paper Cut
How you work towards achieving better grades:
- Drawing experimentation should be done at home (homework), you will to spend at least 5 hours a week outside class drawing
- Bring your sketchbook every week to class for review and advice on development for your final animation (base on your stronger skill)
