Each group should prepare for their presentation on Saul Bass, Typography, and kinetic animation

 

Main Session part 2

Before you start take 5 minutes to find and download your audio, and the lyrics if you can find them otherwise you will have to do the hard work yourself.

For this lesson you are going to get some basic instructions on how to use Audacity to cut  your audio files for your animation, please see video, take notes and trim your audio.

For the second part of the lesson we will start AE and add the text to your animation.

 

Main Session part 3

For this session we are not going to look at Artistic effects yet! We are just going to create the text animation (Kinetic Typography)

Open AE

Create a new project & a new composition

TO SYNC YOUR TEXT WITH YOUR AUDIO, YOU WILL TO HIT THE CMD OR CTRL KEY AND DRAG THE PLAY HEAD AT THE SAME TIME.

So follow these instructions:

  1. Select all the text layers, then hit P on the KB,
  2. Drag all your text out of the stage at frame 1
  3. Then CMD (CTRL), hold and drag (mouse) to  where each word starts,
  4. once you find your first word, select it’s layer and hit [ (square bracket)
  5. on the KB, repeat for all your words.
